Deputation services Sept 2010

Well, we are visiting some of our supporting churches this month. It is difficult to see the general religious apathy in the states without being sad. God has blessed the US because of their turning to Him, and that interest in God is now gone, and the blessing is leaving us also.  I serious doubt that with another 20 or 40 years that there will be churches sending out missionaries from the United States. The youth especially are just not interested in God.

God continues to provide for our needs, and our church in Mexico is going well with our men preaching in my absence. Please continue to pray for them and us.

2010-07 Cox Prayer Update

2010 July Cox Prayer Letter

I am trying to get together two TheWord video presentations as well as making a DVD of the program and modules in English and another in Spanish. So I am really busy.

Specific modules that I am working on right now are:

Treasury of Scripture Knowledge TSK in Spanish. I am working my way through the New Testament part translating verse references and text into Spanish. The verse references part I have a Microsoft Word macro, and it runs in less than a second. But I have to copy and paste from TW to MS Word for every verse. I also have macros to help do this, but it is time consuming. I have Matthew done, and am working my way through Mark (July 7).

Pulpit Commentary in English. I am working my way through the Pulpit Commentary also. My source for this has each chapter together, so I have the entire NT and most of the OT in the module, but only by chapters. I am copying the chapter information and breaking it up into individual verses. This also is time consuming, but it is the best commentary I have seen out there, and I want to use it for a source when I write my own commentary. I will probably be working on my Spanish commentary in the book of John because that is what our men are preaching through in my church while we will be in the states visiting churches.

David and Tule Cox Family

First, who am I? I am an independent Baptist missionary serving in Mexico City since 1986. I graduated from Bob Jones University in 1979 with a B.A. in Christian Missions, in 1981 with a M.A. in Bible, and in 1982 with a M.S. in Administration and Supervision of Schools. I am independent (no affiliation or association with any denomination, fellowship, nor group). I am separated in that I believe in separating from those claiming to be Christians but who fellowship and particate with false prophets, bad doctrine, ungodly conduct, etc. I am Fundamental in that I believe in the Fundamentals of the Faith, and I put serious effort in defending and promoting them.

I invite you to view my site which explains our ministry, pray for us, and if God so leads, to donate financially to help us maintain ourselves economically.

Adela accepted the Lord

On door to door evangelism today (Saturday April 24), I was able to lead Adela to the Lord. She is a mother of 3. Please pray for her and her family that they would come to our church and get involved. We regularly have Saturdays where 3-4 people make decisions, but doing any follow-up with them is always difficult.

Update: Our Church Work Status

We had a full house today, with about 50 people (including the children and young people). One lady wanted to present her baby to the church and for us to prayer for her, so a lot of her family came (about 8+) and even at that, we were missing a good many people today.

We continue to request prayer for David Pérez who has had kidney failure, and is undergoing dialysis.

I also am hoarse, so I would appreciate your prayers for my health. We continue to witness every Saturday and see some decisions usually every Saturday. It is hard to get these people to come to our church though. We also have Satan working on some of our regular families that they would not come to church. Please pray for Maribel, a younger lady with 3 small kids that come even though her husband (unsaved) is against it.
