News for June 2010

Summary: Fall 2010 trip. Preaching of our men. Mexico News.

We continue to prepare for our trip (August-October 2010) to the states to revisit our supporting churches. We still haven’t have all of them check in. I am not sure whether my snail mail letters are not getting through, my emails, or what. I will probably have to just call long distance from Mexico to find out what is going on. It is very frustrating that our attempts at communicating with our supporters fail.

I have divided up the preaching times among our men (about 5 of them), and they will take turns preaching while I am gone. I am recording videos of me preaching for Sunday AM worship services. On the one hand, this is difficult for me to leave the church for so long, and on the other, it is growing us as a group. Our men are having to just take responsibility, and that is very good. I have seen very positive indicators in our men as they prepare for their sermons. Each one will preach about 5–6 times each. This is very good for their spiritual development. I want to continue this for Sunday School when I come back. Please pray for our men that they will become good preachers for the glory of our Lord.

I am also in the processing of gathering or creating Bible resources for their use in preaching. This is a multi-year thing, and I am working slowly on it. I am writing my own Bible dictionary and commentary, and a few reference books in Spanish. Please pray for this project as it is very time consuming, and I am very busy.

Mexico News — No real news, but Mexico City was voted as the worst city in the world for traffic and congestion. That is “felt” by us everytime we get out in it. Our country situation continues to grow worse as kidnapping, drugs, violence, and other things continue to creep and grow day by day. Our church prays for each other that we will be kept by our Lord.

Please pray for our finances as we are in a very delicate situation with our income. We will be paying for rent here in Mexico as well as in the USA (hotels mostly) as we travel. Also please pray for Tule’s green card which we will be in the process of renewing.
