Preach­ing oppor­tu­nity at His­panic Church in Canoga Park, Los Ange­les.

Tomor­row we will be mak­ing a 2 week trip to Los Ange­les to preach at Miguel Morales church, Igle­sia Bautista Fuente de la Sal­vación. Brother Miguel has invited me to come and preach again in his church, and we arranged it to take our fam­ily. This will be a dry run through for our church here, because the men will have to cover 3 Sun­days of ser­vices, so they are all lined up ready to preach. Hope­fully things will go well, and when we leave in August for our August through Novem­ber trip, they will have some idea how dif­fi­cult it is to make a ser­mon, a least a good ser­mon. I am hop­ing when I come back they will be more open to let­ting me teach them some things about ser­mon preparation.

We would ask for your prayers as we preach in LA and do some site­see­ing the Lord will­ing. Kelsie had her 15 year old birth­day this year, and instead of a party she wanted to go to Walt Dis­ney. 15 is the com­ing out age, and most Mex­i­can par­ents spend a lot of money on a big party, so we skipped the party and are just tak­ing her to Dis­ney­land, liv­ing in Miguel Morales house to save money.

I would ask for prayer for Mari­bel that accepted the Lord and has an unsaved hus­band that doesn’t want her com­ing to church with us. Also please pray for our cou­ples and fam­i­lies as Satan has really attacked the fam­ily in this cul­ture, and most fam­i­lies and mar­riages are on the rocks it seems, and I find it very com­mon that cou­ples talk or threat divorce amongst themselves.

I would also ask that you pray for David Pérez who has dia­betes and kid­ney fail­ure. He is hav­ing a hard time of it, as is his fam­ily (he is a sin­gle adult liv­ing with par­ents). We also have other sick peo­ple within our con­gre­ga­tion. Please pray for us as the church is slowly grow­ing and get­ting more sta­ble, more men get­ting involved, and we are happy about that.
